The winners of the fourth IR Best Practice Website Awards were announced on 1 April 2004 at a gala dinner at the Victoria Park Plaza Hotel in central London.
"I would like to congratulate the winners of this year’s awards. We received more than 550 nominations for the eight awards, so competition has been fierce, as website standards were extremely high.
"This has been reflected in the introduction of a new award – Grand Prix IR Best Practice Award for Best Overall Website.
"Since their inception, these awards have had the objective of raising awareness among the wider corporate community of the opportunity and benefits of Internet technology in communicating with investors and potential investors.
"These awards reflect that we have moved far beyond the basic need of persuading companies of the importance of an investor relations website to recognition of the very high standards reached by companies dedicated to best practice."
